How Zink Hospitality Helped Bring the Hilton Columbus Downtown Renovation Together

When Design Collective took on the renovation of the Hilton Tower and Spark Lounge at the Hilton Columbus Downtown, the seating plan needed to work across a lot of different rooms at once. The final specification called for six coordinated collections from GAR Products: Micah, Jasmin, Tamara, Regent, Chloe and Matteo, placed across the main dining area, the fireplace dining area, the lounges, the bar areas and Spark Lounge. By the time the order was finalized, it totaled 273 pieces across 16 individual selections, all reading as one cohesive look rather than a room by room patchwork.

As a portfolio rep for GAR, Zink Hospitality worked alongside Design Collective from the earliest stages of selection. That meant providing GAR pricing as the design developed, coordinating physical chair samples so the team could see and feel the options in person, and walking the hotel space directly with the property team to review those samples onsite. Design Collective ultimately finalized separate furniture packages and floor plans for the Hilton Tower and Spark Lounge, and Zink kept the quotes current as selections and quantities shifted along the way.

Budget was part of the conversation too. Rather than pulling back on the design, the team worked through GAR’s graded in fabric options to bring the project in on budget while keeping the look Design Collective had in mind. It is the kind of problem solving that tends to happen quietly in the background of a project like this, but it is often what keeps a specification intact from first sample to final order.

Once the hotel moved forward with purchasing through Hilton Supply Management, Zink’s role shifted to connecting the pieces on the procurement side. That meant working with the property, the Hilton Supply Management purchasing team and GAR directly so the specifications that Design Collective had built carried through cleanly to the final order, with nothing lost in the handoff.

The Hilton Tower installation is complete, and the response from the design team has been positive. Spark Lounge is next, continuing the same coordinated approach across the property’s remaining spaces.

Behind the Design

Design Collective is a Columbus, Ohio based architecture and interior design firm, and the lead designer behind the Hilton Columbus Downtown renovation. Their team built the seating specification for both the Hilton Tower and Spark Lounge from the ground up, translating the property’s vision into finished floor plans and furniture packages.

Projects like this one are why Zink exists in the first place: not to hold inventory, but to sit between the designer, the property and the premier brand, and make sure the vision that starts on paper is the one that shows up in the room. Making your vision a reality means being in the room for all of it, from the first fabric swatch to the final piece coming off the truck.
